End of July!

July 2012

Aunt S and family moved this summer from Virginia to Morrisville for Uncle E to work for Duke. We headed their way to check out the new rental...with a neighborhood pool.

 We're all here...1,2,3,4.

 We're ready to go!
 It's so hot!

I ordered her bathing suit (stars and stripes), but it hadn't arrived yet. She's a little upset.
It's the middle of summer at a huge swimming pool with water slide and there's no storm in sight. We're practically the only ones there! Me and the kids with S and her kids.

It was hilarious to see H falling sleep while sitting up in her stroller. As soon as she reclined, she was out.
E built up the courage to go down the water slide all by herself. She loved it and we were so excited for her. Cousin L was a big support!
We were not so thrilled when later that afternoon we all of a sudden couldn't find O. Scan the pool. Start to get nervous. Check the bathroom. Scan the pool. I am officially nervous. Call his name and scan the pool side. Aunt S says, He's on the water slide! Standing on the platform, high above our heads, O was about to throw himself down the slide. I called his name and took off running across the pool side as he plopped into the top of the slide. Run...Run... Just as O shot out of the tube and frantically tried to stay afloat, I reached the edge and jumped in to save his overconfident newly four year old self. What was he thinking? So, before I reached out to help him, I gave him a few desperate seconds to realize that maybe that wasn't such a good idea.
Aunt S- You looked just like a Bay Watch Babe!
Me- Yeah...that's the look I was going for.

It's Still July

July 2012
Sound asleep in her bed...in our closet...which is her bedroom. It's perfect, except we have to be quiet and A can't get his clothes out in the morning.
 Such a peaceful baby.
Classic. She sleeps with her tongue sticking out. We are also in love with her fuzzy hair.
A gnome? A pirate? Nope. The hat is from W's costume when he was Jaq for Halloween. We were the Cinderella crew a couple years ago.

Becoming a pro with the ipad.

O has become very competitive. He's smarter, faster, stronger, and hungrier than anyone else. Here, he's going to eat faster than everyone by putting all of his peanut butter in his mouth at once. Hmmm...
At swim lessons, the girl on the diving block was afraid to jump into the pool. O was trying to help her.
New beds. They are supposed to have slats to support the mattress, but we decided this is better because it contained them while they slept. Both boys move around a great deal, so this is a pretty good set up for us. This is O. He now sleeps with his blanket as a turban....every night.

W flirting with his swim teacher. Has he learned any swimming techniques?
Baby H has been able to roll over, sit up, and crawl, but she still will not let me feed her any baby food. She won't let me feed her period.
So we have been placing soft and dissoluble food on her tray or sticking it directly in her mouth.
 She's diggin' it.
I want to eat just like you!

This food thing is awesome. Maybe not for my Mommy, but I'm loving' it.

Good friends of ours came to visit. We love to see Andy, Suzanne, and the girls. Congrats on another girl on the way!

End of Fourth Fun

July 2012

Saying goodbye with lunch bags on their heads.
Watching the rain fall.
Laughing at Mommy.
Bouncing away.
Ah choo!
Big O walking in the rain.
Everyone wants a turn with the umbrella, so leave it to big sister to convince her brothers that it would be more fun to go together.

Fourth of July

July 2012
We traveled to Grandma and Pa's house on the same day the kids went berry picking.
We had a cookout in the 100 degree weather and I'm surprised the homemade ice cream ever solidified.
The kids worked hard at it.

They each took a turn to churn the ice cream.
UNC IS NUMBER ONE!
My brother in law is going to LOVE seeing this.
The girls spent a great deal of time practicing for a show. They had several stories and songs to dance to. They were very creative and we all enjoyed their performance, whether we understood it or not.
 Acting out a story.

Dancing to Celtic Woman, one of E's favorite.
They were even so kind to invite the boys up to dance along with them. Wild and crazy boys.
Baby H loved the music and excitement. She spread her arms out wide and swayed side to side to the music. She was just as entertaining as the the big girls.

 Ooo...I want to do that!
The big finale. Thank you...thank you!
We decided not to go anywhere for fireworks because we didn't really want to have 7 kids who are 6 and under out late, especially when half of them were frightened by loud fireworks anyway.
So we had a few mild and colorful ones in the backyard. The kids really liked the sparklers.
We only had three tiny burns, which happened when they touched the sparkler after the spark went out. One was on Cousin B and the other two were W. It didn't phase W. He just wanted more ice.
Cousin L running along the backyard.

 Baby H sitting with Grandma.
The positions we find them in while sleeping.
 Was he playing something?
The girls zonked.
The pets were sleeping as well.
 They move constantly.
 Barely hanging on.
