Yes, we finally made it to the beach, and yes, I'm finally writing about it. Our numbers were smaller this year. With spouses joining the military and moving, kids in school, and my younger sister about to give birth to number three, it was just us and my parents. We did, however, bring along E's cousin, Wazzah, so the girls could play. They are the best of friends, afterall.
A and I traveled with all the kids to North Myrtle Beach, along with all our gear. It was a VERY snug ride...and not so quiet. Thank goodness Wazzah came with her DVD player. Can we say sanity saver?

W in what was once E's seat, then briefly belonged to O. Now it's all his. He'll probably stay in this thing for years!
O in his new carseat. This is guaranteed to grow with him. Let's hope so. And yes, that is a black eye...of course.
After church on Sunday, we decided to just go look for seashells. I'm sure you can guess what happened.
We had to test the water. The girls loved getting their feet wet while the boys were warming up to the idea.
O didn't want to get near the ocean. He would run from it or drag his feet if you tried to take him near. He was content playing in the sand.
O had enough. He grabbed his shoes and wanted to go home. This reminded me of my Grandma, who used to grab her things and stand by the back door as a sign for my Grandpa that she was ready to go home.
W started to splash in the ocean, laughing away. Notice E at the top of the picture. A wave got the best of her.
