Swimming Like a Fish

Well, maybe not a fish, but she's in the water and she's definitely braver!

E took swim lessons this year. After the first lesson of being shy and unsure, she quickly warmed up and loved each lesson!
Look at this face. Who wouldn't love, encourage, and cheer for this child?! I, along with several other moms quickly realized that the teacher was not up to par. She was not encouraging, not even communicating with the kids. She was a major grump and took it out on the kids. Maybe she was having a bad day? Ok, maybe two bad days? Well, after two days I wasn't going to stand by and allow her to damage my kid's first real water experience. I made an all important phone call to the aquatics director and wouldn't you know it...our teacher was so much more pleasant for the duration of the classes.
Here she is drumming on the side waiting her turn.
Kicking on her back. This lifeguard was a sub one day for the teacher. He was great! He did more in one day than the teacher did in two.
Working with a noodle.
Swimming the length of the pool with her noodle. Awesome.
Cousin L helping her out. Very funny.
The joy of accomplishment!
Swimming with a kickboard.
Jumping into the deep end. It took awhile to gain the courage for this, but she finally did it!!
Swimming on her back.
She's excited for our beach trip just so she can show off her new swimming skills!
