The Nutcracker

Granny and Paw Paw invited us to attend The Nutcracker during the holiday season. We were so excited for the big night out to the theater. I have always enjoyed the Nutcracker, so I was anxious for E's first experience. She already loved the music and, of course, ballerinas, so I knew it would be a hit.

E was excited to wear her fancy dress and Granny even gave out fancy gloves for us all to wear. Aunt J and cousin E were invited as well, so the girls had a grand time together.

When we entered the doors of the theater, all eyes turned towards the two little princesses. Paw Paw loved showing them off and quickly began taking their picture around the lobby, which was elaborately decorated. The girls were then given princess crowns to wear for the evening.

E was so nervous that we were going to miss the show. She kept asking to go to our seats. Once we were there, she kept asking when will it start. When is it gonna to start? When is it gonna to start? Finally, the music began and E was soaking in every second.

After the show, Paw Paw escorted E through the lobby to hand pick her special Nutcracker.

The girls got their Nutcrackers signed by 'Clara'. E now says that 'Clara' is her favorite ballerina.

Me and E at the end of the evening. We had such a great time thanks to Granny and Paw Paw. What a fun night out on the town!

E was a trooper. There were so many pictures being taken. By intermission, not only was she confused as to what the ballerinas were doing and when The Nutcracker was going to start again, but she was a little tired of smiling for the camera. I don't want to smile anymore she whispered. This was her reaction.
