Train Depot and Museum

What a day to be walking around outside. It was like 157 degrees and since the trains were original, they weren't air conditioned. I was hot. I was sweaty. I was 15 weeks pregnant and very tired. But it was fun to experience the trains with the family. The kids, that includes my father-n-law, were very excited to see all the trains up close and personal.
 All aboard!
 W on the train ride.
O checking out everything we pass.
 E having a grand time.
The original diesel engine that became the downfall of the steam engine and the livelihood of the entire city.
The Roundhouse of the Southern Railway
Just seeing the sign made us feel cooler...and happier.
In the museum there was a replica of the entire train station. To identify each section, you press a button and a light would flash within the display. W was all over this. I think he pressed every button 100 times.
There was an array of cars that dated back to early 1900's and, of course, this beauty.
We all took turns sticking our head out of this masterpiece.
It's of a woman getting gas at a Shell station. She has absolutely no neck and it looks weird.
He's hitting on me.
Going around on the turn table at the Roundhouse.
Family shot. Thanks W for picking your nose!
Did I mention how hot it was? We were melting as we waited for the scheduled train to come into the roundhouse near the end of the day. We gave up after 30 minutes. Never saw it. It was a downer.
So they posed on the luggage carriage instead, which we discovered few minutes later that we weren't allowed on it. Hee-hee.
We had a good time, especially the kids who loved climbing on all the trains and just running wild.

Ya, I can't remember the last time I was that hot. It was fun though being with you guys and having the experience. That was a neat place. Why did we just get a picture with that ice cream sign though? Why didn't we actually get some ice cream?!?!?!?!?
